Pelican Island Quarantine Station

The Pelican Island Quarantine Station was a port of entry to the United States for many European immigrants in the early 1900's. It served the same purpose as Ellis Island in New Yorks harbor. These photographs are probably the last ever taken of the station as it was demolished by the City of Galveston in the early 1970's.
